Event Description

United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have released their final rule for requiring importers and carriers to provide additional data (10+2) with effective from 26th Jan 2009. CBP will use the Importer Security Filing to assess the risk of individual shipment to prevent terrorist weapons from being transported to United States.

Hong Kong Shipping Gazette is arranging a half day seminar on 20th January 2009 in Hong Kong - Hotel Nikko (from 9:00-1:00pm)

It will be a half day seminar, for around 400-500 customers from Shipping Companies, Freight Forwarders, NVOCC, shipper, manufacturers from Hong Kong and South China. The Conference will be broadcasted online to difference cities in China, Singapore and Malaysia. It also will be recorded and broadcasting on web.

The cost for this event is HK$ 390, kindly register your interest ASAP so your seat will be reserved without delay.

Mr. Richard DiNucci, Director, Secure Freight Initiative
The Office of Field Operation, US Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security will be coming to Hong Kong for this Seminar and for answer any queries, comments from the trade. It will focus on all topics related to this rule, technical, operational, and process components, such as documentation adjustment....etc.

Ms. Marianne Rowden - General Counsel (Interim Executive)
Marianne Rowden is General Counsel of the AAEI. Prior to her tenure at AAEI, she practiced law with Katten Muchin Rosenman and concentrated in international trade and transportation regulatory compliance. Ms. Rowden has advised importers and exporters on a wide range of trade compliance issues relating to the entire global supply chain, from sourcing goods and trade security to customs entry and delivery of goods to customers.

Mr. Rajiv Garg from Vilden Associates, Inc - CBP-Approved electronic data Interchange system - Vilden (AMS, 10+2) will come and share his comment for the trade.
