You and your colleagues are invited to join the Council for a new workshop entitled The "Future of the Supply Manager Profession" to take place on January 9 in Shanghai. The workshop will start with a lunch, then followed by a group discussion around the following topic:

The Future of the Supply Manager Profession
Over the past decades, Purchasing and Supply Management has become key to create competitive advantage. Despite lagging behind other professional areas such as accounting and finance in both academia and practice, globalization has implied a renaissance for the profession. From being a clerical job function with little strategic influence, the modern Supply Manager has evolved into a strategic thinker, a corporate risk manager and value enhancer. This seminar looks at the past, present, and future of this exciting profession that will play an even more important role as businesses continue to globalize
