Details for "Chongqing Logistics Fact-finding Mission"
A key element of this campaign is to establish Chongqing as the capital of western China. Millions of US Dollars are being spent on transport infrastructure to pave the way for the city to rise as the economic powerhouse of the country interior. In October, the Chongqing government is hosting a fact-finding mission to look at the city transport infrastructure and future investment plans; to meet with senior transport and investment officials; to visit the Three Gorges Dam shiplocks, a major shipping bottleneck along the Yangtze, and understand temporary and long-term solutions; and to assess the overall investment environment in Chongqing by visiting FIEs already located in the city. The Council is pleased to endorse and promote this mission, which will give our members a rare opportunity to gain an insight into the latest developments in the regional transport infrastructure and make meaningful contacts with local government officials.
Who should participate? Shippers and foreign manufacturers that are looking at the option of moving their operations to China interior; shipping lines and 3PLs; port developers; and suppliers of equipment for transport infrastructure.
