On June 4 you and your colleagues are invited to a special lunchtime workgroup in Shanghai to discuss the advantages and risks of utilizing Business Simulation tools to support your company’s growth. 

Business simulations are utilized by industry leaders such as Dell, GE, Wal-Mart and IBM to lead organizational change and shape business culture.  Another industry leader, Air Liquide China, will share its experiences using simulation to facilitate its rapid growth in China.

Biography

Supply Chain Improvements Through Simulation Tools - The Case of Air Liquide China
Air Liquide, the world leader in industrial gas, first began operations in China in the early 1900’s.  In 1990 Air Liquide China set up gas operations in Shanghai. Since 2005 Air Liquide China has been in the midst of a dramatic new growth strategy, investing €300 million per year to capture a rapidly growing market. With operations located in Northern and Eastern China, Air Liquide China plans to expand into Western and Southern China. They have about 1,600 employees and annual sales in 2006 of €230 million.  Sales are forecast to grow to €600 million over the next 4 years.

Marc Coekelberghs leads the alignment of the BD process with the rest of the business units.  He will address how Air Liquide China is using business simulation to:
• Create the organizational transformation necessary to capture their rapidly growing markets
• Ensure that the business strategy is internalized by stakeholders and that functional alignment is maintained
• Facilitate the strategic implementation, creating innovative ways of leading business success

There will also be time for questions following Marc’s presentation.
