You and your colleagues are invited for a new workgroup discussion on supply chain management in the automotive sector on July 1st, 2008 in Shanghai.

By sharing experiences, best practices, market knowledge, common issues and other key topics (e.g. regulations, IP, ect.), this new workgroup is designed to help supply chain, logistics and procurement professionals working for auto manufacturers and their suppliers to learn from each other and accelerate the growth of supply chain management in the automotive sector in China

For this new discussion, the Council is pleased to invite Marnix Etterna who will discuss a new trend among automotive manufacturers on supplier satisfaction.

Why our workgroups are different?
- Unlike committees organized by the Chambers of Commerce, this workgroup series is strictly restricted to supply chain, logistics and procurement from the automotive sector. Any vendors like bankers, headhunters, 3PLs, freight forwarders, IT/software or consultants are not allowed in these discussions.
- This workgroup series is also organized in an "informal" setting (e.g. selected quiet restaurants) as good food (and drinks) tend to foster discussion and "openness" between the participants.

Please note that this workgroup is strictly reserved to supply chain, procurement, sourcing and logistics automotive executives. Any vendors like bankers, headhunters, 3PLs, freight forwarders, IT/software or consultants are not allowed in this workgroup discussion and will be rejected at the door.

Time: 12:15 noon, lunch time

Venue: Shanghai downtown restaurant, exact location confidential.

In order to protect the discussion from vendors or consultants interference, registered delegates will be informed on the exact location one day before the event.

Supplier Satisfaction in the Automotive Industry
Rising cost, a shake-out in many industries and new progressing capabilities in China are impacting the way how companies source in China. Rather than just finding a cost competitive supplier, automotive companies increasingly have to focus on finding long-term partners that bring more to the table than just low cost. The best suppliers though can choose their customers, and will bring their product- and cost-innovation to their best customers. This raises a new question: How to become an attractive customer?
