Millions of US Dollars are being spent on transport infrastructure to pave the way for the city to rise as the economic powerhouse of the country interior. </p> <p style="margin-bottom: 10pt">In October, the Chongqing government is hosting a fact-finding mission to look at the city transport infrastructure and future investment plans; to meet with senior transport and investment officials; to visit the Three Gorges Dam shiplocks, a major shipping bottleneck along the Yangtze, and understand temporary and long-term solutions; and to assess the overall investment environment in Chongqing by visiting FIEs already located in the city. </p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt">The Council is pleased to endorse and promote this mission, which will give our members a rare opportunity to gain an insight into the latest developments in the regional transport infrastructure and make meaningful contacts with local government officials.&nbsp; <br> <br> Note: <span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'">a shortened trip (just the 2-day&nbsp;element of the CQ city proper) is available at half the price plus hotel accommodation(US$90 p.night at CQ Hilton).
